Thank you, John, for the report & photos on the new-to-us Toquerville site. Anyone out there available interested in archaeoastronomy, and willing/able to look at this site during the upcoming Summer Solstice, or a few days before or after? Good time to start looking, as that solar event is coming soon, but we also need to know the direction the sites are are facing, to make some better guesses for future research. The panel John has labeled #3 shows the most promise, because of that very interesting track with tick marks at the top, leading down to a spiral..lots of spirals. It would be a surprise if that panel doesn't do something during some solar event: solstices, equinoxes or cross quarters. Also, it is important to understand that most of these petroglyphs are Virgin Anasazi or Basketmaker, not Paiute, based on patina recovery. Only the few lighter ones are Paiute, although it is likely that the ancestral Paiute adopted these existing petroglyphs as their own, and added their own stories to them. Knowing that the glyphs are Virgin Anasazi provides an important clue to the possibility of solar interactions. Boma would LOVE to check this one out himself, but it is unlikely that he will be able to do this, for several reasons: 1. There are 4 different sites already on his list to check, plus "busy season" at work, and 2. He doesn't know the directions to this site lol! Please, could some who knows, go take a look?
